Breathe in for 4, out for 7.
That should be your first action after you sit down.
The nerves will kick as you await the paper. You would rather not be impulsive or make rash decisions on receiving the paper. A calm brain ins necessary for high performance.
The Research
Research has shown that if you breathe out for longer than you breathe in that it calms you down. It switches off your parasympathetic nervous system. Your body calms.
Remember too — this is controllable. I genuinely mean that. You’ve full control of your body and it’s behaviour. You can calm yourself.
You’ll be fine — in for 4, out for 7.
